7 Essential Tools Every Business Owner Needs to Boost Productivity

When you're running a business, having the right tools makes a world of difference. Over the years, I’ve found some must-haves that help me get things done and keep me organized. Today, I’m sharing a few of my favorites that I use regularly—whether I’m creating content, managing projects, or just getting through a busy day.

1. 2023 MacBook Air

Let me start with my 2023 MacBook Air. It’s a total game-changer. This lightweight laptop is perfect for working on the go, it pairs seamlessly with my iMac and the Starlight color (which is basically a champagne gold) fits my brand aesthetic so well. It’s super light, yet powerful enough to handle everything I throw at it. Plus, it has an upgraded 1080p webcam, which is a huge improvement from the old 720p ones. You can check out my YouTube review: Why I Chose the 15" MacBook Air 2023 (Unboxing) for more details on why I love it!

2. "You Are a Badass at Making Money" by Jen Sincero

When you grow up in an environment that only fuels a survival mindset, it can be difficult to shift to a success mindset. This book was a game-changer for me when it came to shifting my mindset around money. "You Are a Badass at Making Money" is one of those books that you can read over and over again and still pick up something new. If you're an entrepreneur, you need this in your life. You can read the book here or listen to the audiobook for FREE here.

3. My Favorite Laptop Backpack

Back in 2021, when I decided to invest in a good laptop backpack, I knew I wanted something that I’d absolutely love from a fashion perspective but also something that is durable and long lasting. And so I love this laptop backpack so much—it’s water-resistant and has all the compartments I need to keep things organized when I’m out and about. Whether I’m heading to Starbucks, traveling overseas for work, or doing a client content shoot, it keeps my essentials organized and looking cute!

4. Newmowa 60 LED Clip Light

Lighting is crucial and can make or break your content, and this Newmowa 60 LED Clip Light has been a life-saver. I really like how portable yet powerful it is and can fit in my backpack or even my purse on the go. It’s so small, affordable, and powerful—perfect for creating content on the go. If you’re a content creator, a business owner who creates content or simply any person attending virtual meetings, you definitely want this in your toolkit.

5. FIFINE Microphone

I’ve been using my FIFINE mic for about five years now, and it’s still going strong. Whew times flies so quickly! Whether you're podcasting, recording YouTube videos, or even just hopping on Zoom calls, this mic delivers crisp, professional sound. The souch is rich and full of body. It’s what I use for my TeaTime with Cassia podcast, and honestly, you don’t need a bunch of fancy equipment to get started—just a good mic and some simple editing tools like Riverside, Zoom, or Google Meet. Honestly, I don’t even understand why anyone would want to spend over a hundred dollars on a mic when there’s this one that at this quality for the price point!

6. FloDesk

If you need a simple and beautiful way to send out emails to your audience, FloDesk is where it’s at. It’s super easy to use, perfect for delivering resources, templates, or even webinars. It reminds me of Squarespace in how user-friendly it is, but with a little less flexibility if you need advanced segmenting. I’ll probably dive deeper into FloDesk in another post, but for now, I definitely recommend it if you’re just starting out with email marketing. Get 50% OFF when you use Coupon code: CMINTL

7. MailerLite

On the other hand, if you’re looking for something more advanced, MailerLite is great. It has more complex features for segmenting your audience, and there’s even a free plan to get started. While it has a bit more of a learning curve compared to FloDesk, it can definitely grow with your business.
