PROJECT MANAGEMENT
When you're booked in my schedule, we'll stop using email to have our conversation and we'll start using my project management tool, Asana.
A project management tool is a secure space online where we have have conversations, share files, set reminders, and create to-do lists.
Whereas files often get lost when I'm managing projects through email, nothing gets lost or forgotten in Asana. It's the simplest way to keep your project organized and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible!
Don't worry - you won't need to pay for this tool and it's not hard to use. Click the button below to watch a 2-minute tutorial on how to use it!
01. PINTEREST
On Pinterest, create and fill a secret board with inspiration for your brand, including: a minimum of 5 logos, 5 colour palettes, 5 patterns and 5 website designs.
Follow me @cassiamarina and invite me to your secret board.
When you've filled your board, go through your pins and leave comments on your favorites stating what you like about them.
02. WEBSITE INSPIRATION
First things first. Clarity. It’s important to have a clear vision for what you want and like.
We will be building your site, based on the inspiration images that you pin on your Inspiration Moodboard (Pinterest or Images you submitted). We will design and develop based on your desired outcome and website goals.
Have a good look through and keep these things in mind...
Do you like the layout?
Do you like where the navigation menu is?
Does it have a blog sidebar? Do you want one?
Does it have a unique shop style and do you like it?
Does it have a unique blog style and do you like it?
If we already discussed features of the site in a consultation call based on websites you showed me, this step may not be necessary.
03. REGISTER YOUR DOMAIN
A domain is the URL of your website (eg. www.example.com). If you have already purchased a domain from somewhere like Godaddy or 1and1.com then you can skip this step.
You can buy a domain directly through Squarespace, that's the easiest least complicated route but you don't have too. Some think it's best to buy it from a third party, to maintain freedom to move from Squarespace in the future if you need to do that. I can repoint your domain from your third party host to Squarespace.
I suggest buying your domain through 1and1.com or Siteground.com: Domains start from $11.95 USD per year.
(Do not buy your domain through Godaddy- they always have tech issues.)
04. BRAND INSPIRATION BOARD

05. QUESTIONNAIRE & PRE-DIGITAL WORKBOOK
06. UPLOAD YOUR WEBSITE CONTENT TO ASANA
Before the start of your project, I need you to provide your website content (images & text) and upload to Asana.
Content you'll need to compile and provide:
Text for all of your pages (including headers)
Opt-in form text (if applicable)
Opt-in button text (if applicable)
Sidebar text
Button text
Images:
Please organize all images into folders and name them where you want them to go. (Eg. About page, Contact page etc.)
Images must be a minimum of 1500 pixels wide. The bigger, the better!
If you don't have very high quality photos, I recommend buying stock photos from Haute Stock, Stocksy, or any stock photography site of your choosing.
07. TIPS FOR PROVIDING HELPFUL FEEDBACK
You can help me do a really good job by providing me with organized, helpful feedback on your designs. Here are some tips!
Try and use bullet points when you're listing revisions.
Break up your feedback into paragraphs.
Seperate your feedback into sections. For example, feedback about your website footer could go under the header 'website footer' and feedback about your header could go under the header 'website header'.
Be as specific as you can.
If there is more than one person providing feedback, please gather your feedback into one message instead of posting multiple messages.
Feedback like this really helps the design process run smoothly. Thanks for your cooperation! You're the best.
08. TIMELINES
To help keep your project on track to finishing on time, please provide feedback on your designs within two business days of receiving them.
I really appreciate your effort to provide files and feedback on time! Timeliness from both of us will help us get your project done on (or even before!) the deadline so you can move on to the next exciting task on your to-do list and I can cheer you on.
